Lesson #1--Dividing Fractions and Mixed Numerals

Hello, fantastic fifth graders!

Welcome to your 5TH GRADE MATH CHALLENGE BLOG!  I think you are going to enjoy learning challenging math concepts and becoming skilled mathematicians.

Here's how it works.  The links on this page will help you learn and practice the math skill for today.  Remember to take detailed notes on the math concepts and procedures (steps) that you're learning.  You will use your notes to refer to when you practice online and with your work in Accelerated Math.  Thank you for taking your learning seriously and believing in yourself.  I believe in you, too!  Let's get started! . . .

Here are your links for your first lesson, learning about and practicing dividing fractions and mixed numerals:

*Link #5--When you are ready, test yourself on dividing mixed #s, using this link:
http://www.thatquiz.org/tq-3/math/fraction/.  After you open the link, select "mixed #s" and "division."  Then put your notes away and work 10 problems in your Math Challenge Notebook.  As you work through these problems, mark your answers correct or incorrect.  If an answer is incorrect, analyze it and correct it.  After completing 10 problems, give yourself a score (+____ out of 10).  Go back and study and practice with the previous links, if you need to.

*Continue studying and practicing until you are ready to practice dividing mixed #s in an Accelerated Math Exercise and/or Practice.  When you are ready, sign your name and this math skill on our Math Challenge Mastery Sheet to let me know you are ready to practice this math skill in A.M.

Congratulations on your excellent learning, personal responsibility and motivation.  I am proud of you!
